Found an old gilded frame at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. After cleaning and a light sanding, it fits perfectly with a small oil study. I'll post the before/after photos this weekend.

I did a quick comparison using the same terracotta wash on two different papers. The rough texture holds more pigment in the valleys, giving a granulated effect that suits the ochre tones really well.
